Withdrawal
Last updated: September 23, 2026
If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you generally have a statutory right to withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days, without giving a reason. This page explains how that right applies to the digital products sold through GreenWattWise Lab (the Home Battery Buyer Toolkit, the Essential Edition, and the Home Battery Decision Calculator), and how it differs from your separate statutory rights if the product turns out to be defective or not as described.
Digital content is not automatically excluded from withdrawal
Supplying digital content immediately after payment does not, by itself, remove your withdrawal right. Under EU consumer law, that right is lost only where you have given your express, informed consent to immediate supply and have acknowledged that this consent causes your withdrawal right to end once supply has begun.
For our products, this consent is obtained during checkout on Gumroad, the platform that processes these purchases. Before completing your purchase, you are shown a checkbox with the following statement, which you must confirm to proceed:
“I expressly agree that the digital content may be supplied immediately, before the end of the 14-day withdrawal period. I understand that once the supply of the digital content begins, I lose my statutory right of withdrawal.”
Your order confirmation and receipt are the record of what you agreed to for a given order; if you are unsure whether you gave this consent, check that confirmation or contact us using the details below.
How to exercise your withdrawal right
If your withdrawal right has not lapsed (see above), you can exercise it by telling us clearly that you wish to withdraw — for example by emailing greenwattwiselab@gmail.com with your order reference, within 14 days of your purchase. You do not need to use a specific form or give a reason.
Refund handling for a given order also depends on the refund settings configured for that product on Gumroad at the time of purchase — see Terms of Sale & Digital Product Terms.
Withdrawal is different from your rights over a defective product
Withdrawal (above) lets you change your mind about a purchase within the statutory period, regardless of whether anything is wrong with it. It is separate from your statutory rights if the digital content you received is defective, incomplete, or does not match its description — those rights (sometimes called conformity or warranty rights) are not time- limited to 14 days and are not affected by giving consent to immediate delivery. See Terms of Sale & Digital Product Terms, section on statutory conformity rights, for more detail.
